The Diversity in the Profession Section is dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the legal profession. Through education, mentorship, and community engagement, the Section fosters opportunities for attorneys from all backgrounds to thrive while working collectively to build a more representative and accessible legal community.

Our Mission

We seek to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Los Angeles legal community and the bar at large. By creating programming, advocacy, and networking opportunities, the Section ensures that issues of access and representation remain at the forefront of professional development and institutional progress.

What We Offer

Educational Programs – CLEs and panels addressing implicit bias, cultural competency, workplace inclusion, and client representation.
Networking & Mentorship – A vibrant community where attorneys connect across practice areas, form professional relationships, and mentor new lawyers entering the field.
Community Engagement – Service initiatives and partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and civic organizations to support pipeline development and expand access to the profession.
Celebration of Leadership – Events that highlight and honor the contributions of attorneys and leaders who champion diversity and inclusion in the legal field.

LACBA’s biennial Diversity Conference aims to foster inclusion and celebrate diversity within the legal community, providing a platform for discussion, collaboration, and networking among professionals dedicated to these values.
