LOS ANGELES COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT UPDATES

Judicial Updates

Department Relocations:

  • In January 2020, the following departments will relocate to the Eighth and Ninth Floors of the Spring Street Courthouse:
    • Departments 2, 3, 4A, 4B, and 5 (the PI Hub courtrooms) in the Spring Street Courthouse, currently located on the Second Floor, and
    • Department 94 (the Limited Hub courtroom) in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
  • The trial courtrooms of the following four judges will relocate from the Stanley Mosk Courthouse to the Second Floor of the Spring Street Courthouse:
    • Judge Holly E. Kendig, Judge Frederick C. Shaller, Judge Stephen M. Moloney, and Judge Mark A. Borenstein. 
  • The Court will issue Notices to Attorneys with further details.

Holiday Closures

The Los Angeles Superior Court will be closed in observance of the following holidays:

  • Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25, 2019
 

U.S.D.C. CENTRAL DISTRICT COURT UPDATES

Capital Habeas Attorney Panel Recruitment

Applications for membership on the Capital Habeas Attorney Panel for the Central District of California are now being accepted.

Holiday Closures

The United States District Court, in Los Angeles, Santa Ana, and Riverside will be closed in recognition of the following holidays:

  • Administrative Leave Day: Tuesday, December 24, 2019
  • Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25, 2019
  • Administrative Leave Day: Tuesday, December 31, 2019

Times: Reception: 11:15 AM - 12:00 PM, Program: 12:00 - 1:30 PM
Location: Los Angeles Grand Hotel Downtown

Please join us for the 2020 Los Angeles County Bar Association, Litigation Section's Bench Meets Bar Luncheon where prominent judges and lawyers from the Los Angeles legal community will gather in a unique and collegial atmosphere to meet and discuss the state of the local Federal, State and Appellate Courts.

This event will also feature the presentations of the United States District Court, Central District of California Clerk of the Year Award, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judicial Assistant of the Year Award, and The Jim Robie Professionalism and Civility Award.
