The Court Reservation System is going to be expanding to the rest of the Mosk IC Courts in approximately January, 2016. Currently, there are 14 IC Courts in the Pilot Program. E-Delivery Filing Pilot Program in Personal Injury Courts
This program is anticipated to start in January, 2016. The idea is that the judges will be reviewing the scanned versions of filed documents. For now, all filings will remain as they are currently, with paper documents filed in the Clerk's office. Mandatory e-filing for general civil unlimited is expected to start in July, 2017.

On the Move
Judge Daniel Murphy will be moving from Department 97, Personal Injury Court, to an IC Court to replace Judge Mary Strobel who has moved to Department 82, Writs and Receivers. Judge Benny Osorio will be moving from the Chatsworth Courthouse to Department 97 to replace Judge Murphy. A new IC Court will be added to Central Civil West.

Judge Margaret Morrow is retiring from the Central District Federal Court in January, and will become the new Director of Public Counsel. Magistrate Judge Carla Wohrle will be leaving the Federal Court in January.

Construction on the new Federal Court remains on schedule, and is anticipated to be completed in June-July 2016.

New Local Rule 79.5.2 for the Central District Federal Court requires the electronic filing of all documents which are being filed under seal. There is a Guide for filing these materials that has been posted by the Clerk on the website for the Central District.

New Federal Rule 4M has reduced the time to perfect service of a Complaint from 120 days to 90 days.
