Co-sponsored
by LACBA
Register
now for this free 2018 Hot Topics webinar to be held Wednesday,
March 21, 2018. This program will provide an overview of
the regulations of commercial cannabis operations in California.
The
sale and use of marijuana for both medical and recreational purposes
is now legal at the state level in California, but marijuana remains
a controlled (illegal) substance at the federal level. Additionally,
California’s Medicinal and Adult Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety
Act provides individual cities the discretion to regulate and
outright ban the sale and distribution of marijuana within their
borders.
We invite you to join us on March 21 for a one-hour
webinar on the fundamentals of California cannabis law hosted by
Snell & Wilmer, the Business & Corporations Section of
the Los Angeles County Bar Association and PDM, LLP. This program,
featuring attorneys from Snell & Wilmer and a CPA from PDM, LLP,
will include topics such as:
- An overview of the regulatory environment governing commercial
cannabis operations in California.
- The implications of the conflict between federal and state law
on the cannabis industry and the legal challenges that arise from
that conflict.
- The unique tax issues that require careful structuring of
cannabis businesses.
The
program will start at noon and run for 60 minutes, with
corresponding MCLE credit.

It was a Success!! Business & Corporations Section Mixer

With this success under our belt, the Business & Corporations Section plans to hold another mixer in downtown LA (that’s DTLA for those in the “know”) in the coming months. Keep your eyes and ears open for the date and details. We hope to see you there!
