Join LACBA’s AIDS Legal Services Project (ALSP) AIDS Walk team and raise money to support vital legal services for people living with HIV.   A recent survey of over 400 affected people showed that 98% needed legal help in the past year and that most people had more than one legal need in different practice areas.

Los Angeles County is home to the second largest community of people living with HIV in the U.S.  –nearly 60,000 people, at least 12% of whom are women.   ALSP is targeting the legal needs of women and families who face persistent health disparities and cannot afford needed legal help.  Women living with HIV are overwhelmingly women of color with a disproportionate impact on African-American women in particular.

From wills to debt relief to asylum to privacy and discrimination complaints, thousands of volunteer attorneys have provided millions of dollars in pro bono legal services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
