The Los Angeles County Bar Association would like to congratulate its President Margaret P. Stevens for making the Daily Journal’s list of Top 100 Lawyers in California. Margaret is a founding and managing partner of Daehnke Stevens LLP. She has a general civil litigation background in California state and federal trial courts, courts of appeal and arbitration. LACBA congratulates Alan K. Steinbrecher, past president and past chair of the Litigation Section and Armed Forces Committee, for his appointment to the State Bar Board of Trustees by the Supreme Court of California. Alan began his three-year term on October 2, 2016. 

A partner at Steinbrecher & Span LLP, Alan has more than thirty-five years of litigation experience, with an emphasis on business litigation, products liability and aviation litigation. Prior to becoming an attorney, he served as a naval aviator during the Vietnam War, and later retired as a captain from the United States Naval Reserves.

Since 1992, LACBA’s Immigration Legal Assistance Project (ILAP) has offered an Immigration Law Training Course (twice a year) for attorneys new to immigration law. The money ILAP raises through the trainings helps support immigrants and their families. Throughout the years, attorneys from LACBA’s Immigration and Nationality Law Section have given graciously of their time to teach and mentor numerous attorneys attending the course. ILAP would like to thank Carl Shusterman, Linda Nakamura, Ally Bolour, Warren Winston, J. Craig Fong, Paul Cass, Stuart Folinsky, Frederick Benson, Judy Woods, and Carlos Juelle.
