 Conference of Delegates Thumbnail LACBA Seeks Delegates to the Conference of California Bar Associations
LACBA members are encouraged to apply for positions on LACBA’s Delegation to the 2017 Conference of California Bar Associations (CCBA). CCBA brings together attorneys from diverse backgrounds, experience, and expertise to seek, debate, and promote creative, nonpartisan legislative solutions to law-related issues in California. Following the conference, CCBA works to mold the legislative agenda in Sacramento by working with legislators on bills based directly on the resolutions passed at the conference.

 Center For Mediation Logo Civic Mediation Project Winding Down
LACBA's Board of Trustees has made the very difficult decision to wind down the Civic Mediation Project. The decision was reached only after many years of attempting to identify appropriate funding sources to help the Civic Mediation Project sustain its operations. LACBA anticipates completing the process by June 30, 2017.

 Sally Suchil photo LACBA CEO Sally Suchil Announces Her Resignation 

LACBA’s CEO Sally Suchil announced that she will resign her position as Chief Executive Officer effective January 13, 2017. Ms. Suchil will work with staff and volunteers during this transition period. President Margaret P. Stevens commented, “It is with regret that we accept Sally’s resignation. She brought a much-needed business perspective to LACBA when she started in 2009, stepping into a challenging situation at our bar association immediately after the recession. She has worked tirelessly to move LACBA forward, and we have all benefited from her business background and hands-on approach to helping reorganize staff and resources. She will be greatly missed.” Ms. Stevens will appoint a search committee and will retain an executive search consultant immediately.
