New 2017 Board Election Dates Approved!
On January 3, 2017, the LACBA Board of Trustees ("Board") approved the proposed amended LACBA Bylaws, affecting the 2017 Nominating Committee ("NomCom") and election dates, as noted below. These new dates only affect the 2017 election of board members and officers.

Submission of nominations to Board by Affiliate Bar Associations and Sections due

Press release and posting of names of persons nominated to Board by NomCom

Membership record date for purpose of determining eligibility to vote

March 22, 2017

Petitions/written nominations signed by at least 100 members of LACBA due

Voting to end and polls to close

The purpose of advancing the 2017 dates by approximately five to eight weeks is to:
- Provide more time to members who seek to contest a seat, to be elected to the Board, and to file the required one hundred supporting signatures of LACBA members; and
- Allow more time for the Installation Dinner Committee to do the crucial work necessary to make the Dinner a financial success in June.
