About the Los Angeles County Bar Association
LACBA was founded in 1878 and is one of the largest voluntary metropolitan bar associations in the country, with more than 20,000 members. LACBA serves attorneys, judges, and other legal professionals through 27 sections, committees, networking events, live and on-demand CLE programs, and pro bono opportunities, as well as public service and informational resources.
Our membership contributes their time, talent, and experience to better the legal profession, the judicial system, and themselves.
Located in Downtown Los Angeles, LACBA is committed to helping its members throughout the entirety of their careers, from Barrister to Senior Lawyer or judicial officer, by helping them gain critical experience, access a network of legal professionals, both inside and outside of the courtroom, and various leadership opportunities to further our members' careers.
Today our work makes its mark beyond the courthouse, board room, and law office. Our members serve. They serve individuals, families, businesses and government.
They fight for the poor, the underserved, and those in crisis through LACBA’s four legal services projects--Domestic Violence Legal Services, Veterans Legal Services, Immigration Legal Assistance, and AIDS Legal Services.
Last year alone, LACBA members helped nearly 18,000 people and provided more than $3.7 million in pro bono services.
