About the Los Angeles County Bar Association
Since 1878, the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) has been the voice of the legal community in Southern California. LACBA is one of the largest voluntary bar associations in the country, with over 18,000 members, 28 law practice sections, 21 committees, 18 affiliated geographic and identity bar associations, and an annual budget of over $12 M. LACBA is a premiere provider of Continuing Legal Education, with over 350 programs a year. LACBA’s commitment to members’ education, networking, support, and fellowship is unsurpassed.
LACBA partners with the County of Los Angeles to administer an award-winning program providing independent defense counsel to juvenile and indigent criminal defendants. LACBA also operates four pro bono legal services projects: Domestic Violence, Immigration, Veterans, and HIV/AIDS, which help thousands of local residents each year.
LACBA is the only bar association in California with a Vice President for Diversity, Inclusion, and Outreach. We are dedicated to addressing equity and inclusion and being the conduit to underrepresented members of the legal community.
We welcome you to join us.
