The Criminal Justice Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association will be honoring those individual who have consistently demonstrated legal excellence and dedication to the practice of criminal law at their annual awards dinner on June 8, 2000, at the Biltmore Hotel. This year's honorees are:
Judge of the Year Award:
Hon. Jacqueline A. Connor, Judge of the Superior Court
Award will be presented by Hon. Lance Ito. Judge of the Superior Court
Defense Attorney of the Year Award:
Posthumously to Earl Hanson, Hanson & Eggers
Award will be presented by Hon. James M. Ideman, United States Court Judge (ret'd)
Prosecuting Attorney of the Year Award:
Anne Ingalls, Los Angeles District Attorney's Office
Award presented by Gil Garcetti, District Attorney Los Angeles County
Career Achievement Award:
Edward P. George, Jr., Law Offices of Edward P. George, Jr.
Award will be presented by George Deukmejian, 35th Governor of California
The keynote speaker for the evening will be Burt Pines, Judicial Appointments Secretary to Governor Gray Davis.
