Installation of LACBA President Danette Meyers Set for June 26
Danette E. Meyers will be installed as the Association's 2008-09 president on June 26 during a dinner program to be held at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. In addition to recognizing Association officers and trustees plus the installation of Barristers President Alexander S. Gareeb, the presentation of the Shattuck-Price Outstanding Lawyer Award, the Association's highest honor, will be made to Hon. Yvonne B. Burke, Los Angeles County Supervisor, Second District. (more)

Hon. Yvonne B. Burke Will Receive Association’s Highest Award on June 26
The Honorable Yvonne B. Burke, Los Angeles County Supervisor, Second District, and current board chair, will receive the Shattuck-Price Outstanding Lawyer Award, the Association’s highest honor, during the Association’s 2008 Installation Dinner on June 26 at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. The Association presents the award to an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to improving the administration of justice in Los Angeles County, the result of the person’s own efforts or the result of providing leadership or inspiration to others. Candidates recently nominated by LACBA’s Nominating Committee have been deemed unanimously elected and will automatically join the board of trustees when its new term begins July 1, 2008.
