Appellate Tips for Trial Lawyers: New Addition to LACBA’s Growing List of E-Publications

View Appellate Tips here

As electronic communications become more and more a regular part of the busy professional’s life, Appellate Tips for Trial Lawyers is another recent addition to LACBA’s growing list of e-publications.

Although Appellate Tips targets trial lawyers, the information is presented from the perspective of an attorney who takes cases up on appeal, which is unusual in that the articles transcend the typical “civil versus criminal” divide.

Civil and criminal litigation overlap in a crucial area: preserving the record for appeal. The goal of Appellate Tips is to guide both civil and criminal practitioners at trial so that, should the case go up on appeal, the attorney has preserved the critical elements necessary to prevail at the appellate level.

As with other LACBA electronic publications, Appellate Tips will be archived on the LACBA Web site as a handy reference tool. In addition to Appellate Tips, LACBA publishes One-Minute Negotiation Tips, and Your First for newer attorneys. All three e-publications are sent free of charge to LACBA members. To receive these e-publications, members can supply their current email address by going online to www.lacba.org/myaccount or by contacting the LACBA Member Service Department at (213) 896-6560.
