The purposes of the section are to serve the interests and needs of its members, and to apply the knowledge and experience of its members, to serve the legal community and the public at large.

We welcome all eligible members to join us. LACBA members who have reached the age of 55 or who have been in practice for a minimum of 25 years are eligible to join the section.

The Senior Lawyers Section held its 3rd annual Trailblazers of the Bar awards and reception on January 31, 2013 in celebration of John Marshall Day. Two outstanding pioneers in the legal profession were honored: California Supreme Court Justice Joyce Kennard and attorney Patricia Phillips.

Frozen in Time: Michael Jackson

Frozen in Time

An extremely popular concept created by the Senior Lawyers Section, Frozen in Time-Historical Events, features legal proceedings unique to the legal history of Los Angeles County or by participation of Los Angeles lawyers. The first two stunningly successful programs were:

1. An expert analysis of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the investigation by the Warren Commission featuring Vince Bugliosi, Hon. Richard Mosk, and John Van de Kamp.
2. The legal impact of the O.J. Simpson criminal trial moderated by now County Counsel, Andrea Ordin.

Survey Results

The members of the Senior Lawyers Section Executive Committee (SLEXCOM) prepared and randomly sent a survey to our members, soliciting their opinions and desires regarding the direction of the Division.
