Mr. Davis currently is a partner of the firm of Davis & Whalen LLP in North Hollywood, California. He previously was a partner of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP, and before that, a partner of Overton, Lyman & Prince, in Los Angeles, California.
Mr. Davis attended Pepperdine College and received his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 1952. He is admitted to practice in California and in the federal courts since 1952.
Mr. Davis has been active in the California State Bar and the Los Angeles County Bar. He was on the Executive Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and was President of the Section in 1973. He was on the Executive Section of the California State Bar Trusts and Estates Committee and was the Chairman of the Section in 1977-78. He has also been a delegate to the California State Bar Conference of Delegates.
Mr. Davis has been a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel since 1969, and was its California Chair from 1981-86. He has been listed in “Best Lawyers of America” since the inception of that publication. He has been selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer for the years 2004, 2005, and 2006, and as among the top 100 Southern California Super Lawyers for the years 2005 and 2006.
Mr. Davis has been a lecturer at the USC Tax Institute and the UCLA Tax Institute. He has been the publisher of various legal articles.
In 1991, Mr. Davis was the recipient of the Arthur K. Marshall Award from the Los Angeles County Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section.
