MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Welcome to the Los Angeles County Bar Association Environmental Law Section! Our Section is made up of a diverse mix of environmental lawyers with representatives from government, academia, large law firms, small law firms, solo practices, and corporate legal departments. Our members work in all areas of environmental law and we are excited to offer a wide-range of programming over the upcoming year.
In California, environmental legal issues are at the forefront of most of our political debates and policy considerations. We are lucky to be a part of a rapidly growing and ever-changing area of law. In order to best prepare our members to meet these challenges, we offer a variety of continuing legal education programs. Next year we will be hosting two symposia (a half-day program in the fall and a full-day program in the spring), a variety of lunch programs, and a special reception honoring someone who has made significant contributions to environmental law. All of these events are excellent opportunities to improve your skills and network with some of the best lawyers in our field.
It is my great honor to serve as the Environmental Law Section's Chair for 2015-2016. If you have any suggestions for programming or would like to become involved, please give us a call. We wholeheartedly welcome new ideas and new members. On behalf of the Section, we hope that you will join us and look forward to an exciting year.
