MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Welcome to the Los Angeles County Bar Association Environmental Law Section. We have many exciting programs planned for 2013-14.
As always, we are planning great lunch-hour programs and a Spring Symposium. These programs can help you stay up to date and learn more about particular environmental law topics, all while earning MCLE credit. For those of you who are new to the practice of environmental law, we also are offering Nuts and Bolts programs. Please do not hesitate to check this website regularly for upcoming programs.
This year we are starting a new Sustainability Series. For years, the Section has been offering programs on various Sustainability issues. Now certain of those programs will be significantly designated, in the posted program materials, as part of the Sustainability Series. Those who complete the Sustainability Series will receive documentation of this fact. The goal is not only to enhance proficiency on Sustainability legal issues, but to help those who complete the Series gain documented recognition for having done so.
The upcoming programs also provide a much-welcomed opportunity to "meet and greet" our many talented colleagues in the Environmental Law Section. We very much look forward to seeing you there!
Given our Section's many accomplishments, and the extraordinary collective expertise and commitment of those on our Executive Committee, I am honored to serve as the Environmental Law Section's Chair for 2013-14. Our Executive Committee looks forward to serving your needs. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or would like to see our Section address something specific in the future.

LACBA Environmental Section Annual Spring Reception Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30
You are cordially invited to join the Environmental Law Section as we honor State Senator Fran Pavley at our annual Spring Membership Reception. The reception will take place on Thursday, April 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Tom Bradley Tower Room at the top of City Hall in downtown Los Angeles.
Senator Pavley, a highly respected environmental law legislator who serves as Chair of the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee, will be honored for her work in the establishment of climate change legislation, and other environmental laws and policies. Among other notable accomplishments, she was the author of the landmark climate change bill AB 32, which has become a model for other states and nations.
Attendance is complimentary for Environmental Law Section members, judicial officers, government/public interest attorneys, and law students. We hope you can join us for an evening of fun, casual networking, camaraderie building, and outreach to prospective Section members.
