Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation, I thank those of you who have supported us financially and with your time over the past 50 years.  With your help and dedication, we have distributed more than $8 million to disadvantaged and legally underserved members of our community.

The Foundation is the charitable arm of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) and works hand in hand with LACBA to expand pro bono legal services for the community and involvement for its members. We also are the principal supporter of LACBA's Projects - AIDS Legal Services, Domestic Violence, Immigration Legal Assistance, as well as Center for Civic Mediation and Veteran's Justice Project.

To advance the crucial work the Foundation started in 1963, we need your continued support and the support of others, including your firm, company, business associates, colleagues and friends.  Now more than ever, with decreasing state support for our Court and social welfare programs, we as lawyers and the legal profession as a whole, need to step up our efforts to support those with no personal resources to fight for their rights.

For those of you looking for a way to serve the most vulnerable in our community, volunteering with any of our Projects is a great way. We now have a dedicated staff member to help connect attorneys with pro bono work, which provides attorneys with opportunities to gain experience in the courtroom while meeting judges and helping those with need.
