John J. Collins Becomes President of the Los Angeles County Bar Association
The Los Angeles County Bar Association is proud to announce the ascension of John J. Collins to the Presidency of the organization. Collins became LACBA’s 126th President on July 1, 2004.
Collins is a partner in Collins, Collins, Muir & Stewart, LLP with offices in South Pasadena and Newport Beach. He is a graduate of the University of Santa Clara and Loyola University School of Law and also participated in the graduate law program at the USC Law Center. He was previously named California Trial Lawyer of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates and has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America, in every edition since 1987.
Collins is admitted to practice in the State of California, U.S. District Court, Ninth Circuit Court Of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court. Collins started his career as a Research Assistant for the Los Angeles County Superior Court and Deputy County Counsel, County of Los Angeles. Collins is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, California State Bar, Orange County Bar Association and Pasadena Bar Association and was recently a member of the Judicial Council of California. Professional Organization positions and honors include the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (President 1982-84), California Defense Counsel (President 1993), American Board of Trial Advocates (Los Angeles Chapter President 1989 and Chairman 1990), American College of Trial Lawyers (Fellow), and International Academy of Trial Lawyers (Fellow).
Collins is married to Patricia L. Collins and lives in Newport Beach, California.
