The Association’s Dispute Resolution Services Selected To Demo Cutting Edge Community Violence Prevention Resources The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services have selected the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s, Dispute Resolution Services to implement and pilot one of six TAGS programs (Technology Assisted Group Solutions) located throughout the nation.
This will be the only West Coast Demo.
The designed of this program brings together school-based stakeholders and youth, mobilizing resources and developing sustainable healthy and safe communities. By using technology as a partner to prevent acts of violence, and accessing information by allowing communities to gain new skills in defusing tensions of recurring problems that have traditionally defied remedy.
This new cutting edge electronic technology, which can be replicated in communities throughout the United States, will be used to assist Carson Middle School students, educators, parents and community stakeholders in accessing existing violence prevention resources along with other community social services. As well as provide a vehicle to report violent acts anonymously and access information for group problem solving.
Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services and Los Angeles County Bar, Dispute Resolution Services Workshop/Demonstration of the Pilot “TAGS” Peer Mediation Program will be held September 12, from 9:00- 11:30 AM at Southwestern University of Law - 3050Wilshire BL rm. 311 – LA, Ca. 90005.
