Michael A. Lawson has been nominated by President Barack Obama for the rank of Ambassador during his tenure of service as Representative of the United States on the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Department of State. The nomination is awaiting confirmation by the Senate.   (more)  

Justice Carlos R. Moreno was nominated earlier this summer by President Barack Obama for the position of Ambassador to Belize, Department of State. The nomination has been sent to the Senate for confirmation.    (more)  

Los Angeles attorney Luis J. Rodriguez has been elected as president of the State Bar of California for 2013-14. He will be the first public defender and the first Latino to hold the office. He will be sworn in as the 89th president at the State Bar's Annual Meeting in October in San Jose.   (more)
