2nd Annual Casino & Poker Night Scheduled for September 20

Fundraiser will benefit LACBA's Domestic Violence, AIDS Legal Services, and Immigration Legal Assistance projects.

The Los Angeles County Bar Foundation will host its 2nd Annual Casino & Poker Night on September 20, 2012—an elegant evening of Vegas-style gaming to raise funds to support the life-changing work of LACBA’s three pro bono projects: Domestic Violence, AIDS Legal Services, and Immigration Legal Assistance.

Last year, more than 200 leaders from the business, civic, and legal community, including Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, and U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Kim Wardlaw, joined the celebration at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

The evening was a great success as guests cheered each other’s winning streaks. The Athletic Club was transformed into a high-end Monte Carlo casino, complete with a VIP High Rollers section, blackjack, roulette, poker, and craps tables.

Supporters were also automatically entered into a raffle for high-end luxury items including a four-night stay at a deluxe flat in Paris located in the Montmartre district near the Basilica Sacré-Coeur; a one-week stay at a three-bedroom ski chalet located in Taos, New Mexico; airline tickets; Dodgers and Kings ticket packages; and other great luxury prizes. Every guest received a gift bag with fabulous gifts and treats.

This year’s event promises to be every bit as exciting, and we hope you will join us as a sponsor of one of the Foundation’s premier fundraising events. Net funds from the evening directly benefit the three projects, which have provided legal services for low-income families in Los Angeles County for more than 25 years.
