Mentors Needed to Donate a Small Amount of Time to a New Admittee

Calling all LACBA members: Due to the tremendous success of the New Admittee Mentor Program last year—with more than 400 new admittees receiving a mentor—LACBA once again will run its mentor program this spring. Whether you are an attorney or judge, can you donate two hours of your time to mentor a new admittee?

As these new attorneys enter the legal field, providing them with access to experienced members of the Los Angeles legal community is just another privilege of becoming a LACBA member.

LACBA will celebrate all new members and all attorneys newly admitted to the State Bar of California at our annual reception on March 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. New admittees will apply for mentors that evening based on their practice area interests. However, you do not have to be present at the event to donate a mentoring experience. Mentors will not be announced at the event but in the week following the event. 

Some ideas for mentor time include:

Lunch
Round of golf
Tour of your firm and career advice
Shadow me for a day in court
Social events such as baseball or basketball games
Practice area advice
Job location assistance
Meeting
