Hidden Nuggets on LACBA.org

There are plenty of interesting articles and features on LACBA’s Web site, if you’re up to doing a little bit of digging. Here are some treasures that you might not have discovered yet.

If you are a Los Angeles County-based attorney in search of referrals, click on the Get More Referrals graphic on the right-hand side of the home page to find out whether LACBA's Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) has a need for panel members in your practice area. Currently, LRIS has a need for attorneys in eight areas. Check out the complete list here.

You will discover a bevy of exceptionally useful items in the LACBA Litigator Tools section, also accessible by clicking on a graphic located on the LACBA.org home page. LACBA Litigator Tools offers descriptions of LACBA’s Daily EBriefs, Court Tracking Tools, Los Angeles Lawyer magazine, a listing of Experts & Consultants, a link to the Searchable Civil Register, and other tools that can assist you with your case preparation.

You will also find a comprehensive listing of several LACBA membership benefits when you click on the Membership Benefits header in the right-hand margin, including discounts on insurance, car rentals, credit cards, delivery services, and several other products and services—one of many reasons why LACBA membership has its privileges.

When you click on For Attorneys on the left-hand side of the home page, be sure to take a look at the Practice Related Resources Index. It offers links to court notices, judicial council forms (also found in the top banner of the Web site), legal services for lawyers, daily case summaries, information about judges, and several other useful Web pages.

Did you miss something that LACBA published? Be sure to head over to the archives and get caught up. Do you need to read a newsletter from your section? The archives contain past issues for the 11 electronic section newsletters LACBA publishes. You can also read past editions of County Bar Update, View from the Bench, and several book reviews as well. To find the archives, click on For Attorneys on the left-hand side of the home page and select Publications.

Be sure to spend some time exploring LACBA’s Web site and click on all that it has to offer. Unlike Bono, it won’t take you long to find what you’re looking for.
