Appointment to Position of U.S. District Court Judge, Central District 

LACBA members who are interested in being considered for appointment to the position of U.S. District Court Judge, Central District—or who may know of someone who would be a good candidate for the position—are encouraged to read the letter from the chair of U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein's Judicial Advisory Committee. Candidates are urged to submit an application by November 15, 2011.

Text of open letter to LACBA members from David S. Casey Jr., statewide chair, Feinstein Judicial Advisory Committee:

All,

I am chair of U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s judicial advisory committee process. I write on behalf of Sen. Feinstein concerning a potential position on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

As you may know, Sen. Feinstein has established a Judicial Advisory Committee in each federal district to review candidates for the position of U.S. District Court Judge. If you know of a candidate you believe would serve with distinction as a district judge, please encourage him or her to submit an application. These applications and directions are available at this link: http://feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/applications-jud.

Although applications will be considered on a rolling basis, the committee will be working to provide candidates to Sen. Feinstein as soon as possible. Therefore, please encourage any candidate to submit his or her application by Tuesday, November 15, 2011.
