LACBA Officers Installed, Shattuck-Price Award and Others Presented

The 2011-12 LACBA officers, Board of Trustees, and Barristers officers were installed at a June 29 dinner at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles. County Counsel Andrea Sheridan Ordin received the Association's highest award that evening, the Shattuck-Price Outstanding Lawyer Award. The dinner also recognized many outstanding individuals.   Incoming Barristers officers include Sarah Luppen, president; and Andrew Dhadwal, president-elect.

  Outgoing president Alan Steinbrecher presented County Counsel Andrea Sheridan Ordin with LACBA's Shattuck-Price Outstanding Lawyer Award.

  Guests at the event included Los Angeles Superior Court Presiding Judge Lee Edmon; Judge Margaret Morrow, U.S. District Court for the Central District of California; LACBA Executive Director Sally Suchil; Hon. Lourdes Baird (ret.), JAMS; and County Counsel Andrea Sheridan Ordin (from left). 

  Brian D. Huben received the Samuel L. Williams Outstanding Trustee Award.

  The Matthew S. Rae Jr. Outstanding Section Leader Award was presented to David K. Reinert.

  Alan Steinbrecher presented the Outstanding Public Service Awards to Abby Friedman, Domestic Violence Project; Jack Chihyao Sung, Immigration Legal Assistance Project; and Brian E. Schield, AIDS Legal Services Project (from left). 

  Patricia Hurst Holt received an award for outstanding service during her years as directing attorney of LACBA's Lawyer Referral and Information Service.

  Alan Steinbrecher presented a resolution of the LACBA Board of Trustees to Edith Matthai in recognition and memory of her husband, James Robie.

  As outgoing president, Alan Steinbrecher received the traditional silver tray, which contains the engraved signatures of the members of the Board of Trustees. 

  Miguel Espinoza received the Barristers President's Award from David Reinert.

  David Reinert, Barristers Immediate Past President, presented Incoming President Sarah Luppen with her gavel.
