Message from the Chair
Happy New Year!
I am pleased that we were able to start our 2010-2011 program season with two successful events: the Annual Securities Regulation Seminar in October and the Marvin Greene Awards social honoring California State Controller John Chiang in December. We are kicking off 2011 with a seminar regarding Current Developments in the area of Securities Arbitration. The program will cover topics such as new FINRA Rules, Public Arbitrator Program and Differences in Mediation and Litigation of Securities Related Cases. FINRA representatives will be in attendance. The program will be held at noon on January 18, 2011 at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel (two hours of CLE credits will be provided). We invite you to attend.
Our attempts to expand our areas of communications with our section members continue. Please join us on Facebook and share the information with friends, clients and colleagues.
Sincerely,
David C. Eisman, Section Chair

Pro Bono News
Public interest organizations have been providing legal services to thousands of indigent members of the Los Angeles community in a variety of consumer law cases. Their services impact people's lives in a meaningful and lasting way. These organizations routinely work with members of the private bar in serving the needs of those who are otherwise unable to bear the costs of defending their rights. There are many such opportunities available which require minimal attorney time and provide a rewarding experience in return. Our section strongly encourages its members to offer their time and expertise to pro bono matters. To learn more about the public interest and legal services organizations and the pro bono opportunities available in the Los Angeles County, please click here.
