| Pro Bono Committee |
|
| The Barristers Pro Bono Committee connects Barristers members with local pro bono opportunities through collaborations with various legal services programs. In 2010, the Committee worked with Bet Tzedek, Public Counsel, Neighborhood Legal Services, Asian Pacific American Legal Center, and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles to train 160 Barrister volunteers to assist victims of loan modification scams. After the training, volunteers had the opportunity to sign up to assist at one of many clinics hosted by the legal services agencies. The Committee also co-sponsored a networking event with the Southern California Pro Bono Managers and the Senior Lawyers section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. The event took place during National Pro Bono Week and consisted of 4 MCLE programs and a keynote address by Judge Matz. Contact: Devon Myers at dmyers@la.whitecase.com |
