Conference of California Bar Associations Passes Six LACBA Resolutions

Write resolutions for the next conference.

The following 2010 LACBA resolutions were passed by the Conference of California Bar Associations (still informally referred to as the Conference of Delegates) at its annual conference held in September in Monterey.

• Resolution 01-11-2010: Experts: Appointment after Trial (approved in principle)
• Resolution 01-12-2010: Criminal Discovery: Work Product Exception (approved in principle)
• Resolution 01-13-2010: Criminal Law: Procedures for Eyewitness Identifications (approved in principle)
• Resolution 03-02-2010: Child Custody: Jurisdiction following Death of a Parent (approved as amended)
• Resolution 06-01-2010: Conservatorships: Recommendation of Involuntary Treatment (approved as amended)
• Resolution 06-04-2010: Elder Abuse: Double Damages (approved as amended)

Resolution authors work closely with the CCBA Board of Directors and with the conference-paid lobbyist to fine-tune proposals and locate appropriate legislators to carry the resultant measures, allowing authors an opportunity to take an integral part in improving the law.
