National Pro Bono Week Celebration on October 27

Event includes CLE presentations, keynote address, reception, and pro bono networking soiree.

The National Pro Bono Week Celebration—a coordinated national effort to meet the evergrowing needs of this country's most vulnerable citizens—encourages and supports local programs to expand the delivery of pro bono legal services. First sponsored in 2009 by the ABA’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, this year’s celebration takes place during the last week of October.

On October 27, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Southern California Pro Bono Managers Group will sponsor a National Pro Bono Week Celebration event as part of this nationwide effort. The event, cosponsored by LACBA’s Barristers and Senior Lawyers Section, will take place at LACBA’s offices. 

In addition to celebrating the importance of pro bono, attendees will have the opportunity to interact at an informal reception with representatives of public interest law firms to discuss the myriad ways to pursue professional development through pro bono while assisting those in need in our community.

Before and after the reception—which features keynote remarks by the Honorable A. Howard Matz, U.S. District Judge for the Central District of California at Los Angeles—attendees may sit in on the following panel discussions:
