LACBA's Judicial Elections Evaluation Report for June 8 Elections to be Released in Mid-May
LACBA's Judicial Elections Evaluation Committee hosts and coordinates a review of all candidates running in contested elections for superior court offices. The extensive review process involves the submission of written materials, followed by one or more interviews or other meetings with JEEC members, with the results published in mid-May.   (more)

LACBA's Taxation Section has selected Terry L. Polley as the recipient of its prestigious Dana Latham Award for lifetime achievement in the field of taxation law. An Attorney's Obligations in Mediation
Attorneys who participate in a client's mediation must fulfill a number of obligations that include—among other things—providing notice of cancellation or continuance of the mediation, advising clients about settlement opportunities, serving a list of mediation participants, consulting with the client during the mediation, avoiding conflicts in aggregate settlements, and maintaining the confidentiality of all mediation communications.   (more)
