LACBA INSTALLATION DINNER SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 17

Don Mike Anthony will be installed as LACBA's 2009-10 president on June 17 at the Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles. In addition to recognizing LACBA officers and trustees, plus the installation of Barristers President David Swift, LACBA will present its highest honor, the Shattuck-Price Outstanding Lawyer Award, to Associate Justice Laurie Zelon, California Court of Appeal, Second District.    (more)

Modifying Fee Agreements, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love California Rule of Professional Conduct 3-300
Recent political and economic upheavals remind us that the only future certainty is change. And so it is an inevitable fact of life as a lawyer that clients and sometimes attorneys will seek to modify the original terms of the relationship. Renegotiating fee agreements with existing clients invites a host of ethical considerations. Must an attorney comply with Rule 3-300 when renegotiating?
