Earning Participatory and Self-Study Credit

Each CLE In-a-Box includes information on applying programs to either participatory or self-study credit.

All or part of the 2009 CLE In-a-Box can be used for participatory credit. To get participatory credit, just complete the following:

1. In the presence of a witness, listen to the audio CDs and review the written materials on the materials CD for those programs.
2. Complete the sign-in sheet (included in the box) with all the required information and the signature of the witness.
3. Return the completed sign-in sheet to the Los Angeles County Bar Association no later than January 16, 2009. LACBA will mail a certificate of attendance to you within two to three weeks.

In addition to meeting these requirements for participatory credit, you must also obtain and complete the MCLE Compliance Card from the California State Bar and return it to the State Bar by your compliance deadline. The Compliance Card is in the Bar Journal publication mailed by the State Bar. The Compliance Card also can be completed online.

The 2009 CLE In-a-Box also may be used for self-study credit. The State Bar allows up to 12.5 hours of the required 25 hours to be obtained by self-study. Self-study credit is reported directly to the State Bar. Contact the State Bar for other self-study or participatory credit information.
