LACBA announces new Executive Director of Dispute Resolution Services, Inc. (DRS)
On Monday, August 30, 1999, Neal Blacker became the new Executive Director of Los Angeles County Bar Association Dispute Resolution Services, Inc. (DRS).
Los Angeles, August 30, 1999 - For 25 years, Mr. Blacker successfully managed the regional offices of two prominent national ADR providers, the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the National Association of Securities Dealers, Regulation (NASD) Office of Dispute Resolution (ODR). With the AAA, Mr. Blacker was the Assistant Regional Director in San Francisco and then served as the Regional Director for the Seattle/Northwest Region between 1974 and 1993. Between 1993 and 1998, Mr. Blacker worked for ODR, initially in the position of Florida Regional Director and subsequently as Assistant Director of Mediation and Director of Neutral Training and Development.
Mr. Blacker designed and implemented the ODR's successful national mediation program. He also has extensive experience in designing and conducting arbitrator and mediator training programs, mediation and arbitration advocacy skills programs, and programs on arbitration and mediation law and practice for lawyers and bar associations in the United States and abroad.
Mr. Blacker is active in the American Bar Association's Dispute Resolution (DR) and International Law and Practice Sections and has held office in both Sections. He currently is Vice Chair of the DR Section Training Committee.
