The Los Angeles County Bar Association is saddened by the passing of the Honorable Arthur L. Alarcón, Senior Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, at 89 years of age. Judge Alarcón was the recipient of LACBA's 2014 Outstanding Jurist Award in recognition of his life-long and significant contributions to the bench, the practice of law, and the community at large.

His influence was felt far beyond the courtroom, as he made it his mission to counsel and promote the careers of young lawyers, push for equality both inside and outside of the courtroom, and provide for the betterment of the community. Judge Alarcón will be greatly missed by his family and friends, including the LACBA community.

In lieu of flowers, Judge Alarcón's family requests that donations in his name be made to the LACBA Veterans Project. CLICK HERE to donate now.
